Uber Eats
At Uber Eats I’ve established my role as the resident expert for new verticals, including grocery and alcohol. I’ve created foundational components for the grocery shopping experience and worked closely with cross-functional teams to unlock new capabilities that are core to new verticals.
Opportunity
Grocery and alcohol delivery are new spaces for Uber Eats and our team was tasked with creating a best-in-class shopping and delivery experience for these new verticals. The landing page is where customers form their first impression of our offering, and is the starting point for all commerce.
How might we make Eats the go-to spot for grocery, alcohol, and retail?
We started by understanding customer needs, and explored a variety of tactics to solve them. This involved a design sprint, collaborating closely with product partners, and creating a North Star vision to align the team and stakeholders.
Enabling customers to easily find, discover and reorder the groceries they love
I led the designs for core foundational grocery components including aisle exploration, search, featured stores, and store listings. These components unlocked our ability to scale across grocery, alcohol, and retail.
Out of Item Replacements
In order for customers to have a great delivery experience, we have to make sure that we deliver on the items that they purchased. However, if an item is out of stock, we need to ensure that customers are happy with replacement items by allowing them to help facilitate the process.
I led the design for this end-to-end experience for both the consumer and the merchant.
Alcohol North Star Vision
I led the designs for the alcohol experience in parallel with grocery, setting the foundation for item-first shopping which unlocks expansion into new verticals like retail.
Impact
This grocery framework integrates the Cornershop and Drizly acquisitions into a native, seamless Uber Eats experience. The foundational components I created unlock new capabilities for Uber Eats and will help the business expand into new verticals.
